Broward County —
Volunteers are being recruited by the Broward County Homeless Initiative Partnership to help them count the homeless.
The county must gauge the population as part of the 2011 Homeless Count Survey which is used to acquire federal and state grants and help Broward get resources to help the homeless population.
“The survey is used to provide up-to-date information about the needs of the homeless population so that we can provide appropriate services,” said Robert Gregg, chairman of the Homeless Initiative Partnership Advisory Board.
