I completed one month’s dose of Amberen.
After a week off of it, I started feeling irritable again. I decided to try another approach. I researched Progesterone Cream on the web. Clinical trials have been done on it with positive results. I bought some at a respected health food store in my area and am very happy with the results. You rub 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of cream on a thin skinned area of your body twice a day. You use it for 3 weeks, then go off for a week. Then repeat the cycle. I think this is a natural and a good way to try to balance your body with regard to menopause symptoms. You can read about natural Progesterone Cream on the web. There are a lot of good sources. It’s supposed to balance your hormones out.
Best to you all,
Barbara
Barbara, what kind of cream and what health food store. I have been on amberen and its not working. Day 20 and the hot flashes are worse than ever. Need to look into something else.

I just sent it back.
I had been on bio-identical HRT cream for several years and my symptoms had decreased to just mild night sweats. My thougt was that if Amberen could take care of those, I could get off the HRT. I slowly stopped the HRT and the night sweats stayed status quo – no significant increase. When I started taking the Amberen within about 3 days I started experiencing severe hot flashes, night sweats as well as headaches – none of which I’ve had for years! I took the Amberen for a total of 10 days and the symptoms just got worse. It’s as if it awoke my hormones and now they’re on a rampage. I’m hoping the effects will wear off soon.
I’m back to using the bio-identicals to counteract the effects. I regret the decision I made to try Amberen. On the positive side I did get notification that they have credited my credit card so at least they live up to the money back guarantee claim.
