Inkscape is an Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, CorelDraw, or Xara X, using the W3C standard Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) file format.
Q: How do I do an area-limited copy/paste?
A: You can accomplish that with a clip path:
1. Draw a rectangle the size of a page on top of all the objects you want (so just trace out the outline of the page with a rectangle, doesn’t matter about what fill you use).
2. Then press CTRL+A to select all the objects on the page.
3. Go to Object > Clip > Set. The rectangle will not exist anymore, and you will be left with just the portion of the objects. You can then copy and paste that into another project.
