What Is Gynecomastia?
Gynecomastia is a condition in which the male’s breast tissue enlarges. This increase in tissue usually occurs at times when the male is having hormonal changes, such as during infancy, adolescence, or old age, especially in men who are overweight.
Recreational drugs, such as marijuana, and nutritional supplements and drugs for bodybuilding can contribute to this condition as well.
Generally, gynecomastia isn’t a serious problem, but it can be tough to cope with. Gynecomastia may go away on its own. If it persists, medication or surgery may help. It is best to talk with your doctor for identifing the underlying cause and for suggested treatment.

Applying products to the skin that contain tea tree oil along with lavender oil might not be safe for young boys who have not yet reached puberty. These products might have hormone effects that could disrupt the normal hormones in a boy’s body. In some cases, this has resulted in boys developing abnormal breast growth called gynecomastia. The safety of these products when used by young girls is not known.
