I started taking Amberen about a three weeks ago, and I don’t know about the long term use, but it has been a GODSEND for me so far. I had the hot flashes for years also and the anxiety started making me feel like I was losing my mind. When you can’t sleep eight hours for months, it starts to catch up with you.
I used the premerin for a month and it caused so much anxiety my heart was pounding. My breast grew and I just felt like I was pregnant all the time. Then when I stoped the premerin, I felt so strange, I had to withdraw from it a little at a time. Then I lost the weight from it in about six months it seemed to fall off.
With the Amberen, I have not experience any weight gain. My moods are balanced so much I have stamana to make it every day. By taking the Amberen, I realize how messed up my moods were. I have a five year old daughter, and before Amberen, I had such a depressed mood sometimes. I would start to do something with her, and just not feel like finishing. Now, I actually look for the mood because I was so use to it, and it is not there. I actually feel whole again.
I’m no doctor, but I would guess that because Amberen does not give the extra weight gain to the breast tissue, it won’t be any long term harm. I don’t know but without the Amberen, I don’t have such a great quality of life anyway. I am calm, stable and can sleep every night. I hope this helps any one who was going through what I was going through without the Amberen.

That’s good to hear that the Amberen can help the moods (anxiety and depression) as well as the hot flashes. I have not experienced any of the hot flashes, but wake up with panic attacks in the middle of the night and am sweating. I also have no motivation and have to push myself to do anything with my daughter, so am hoping and praying the Amberen will help with this. I have tried everything under the sun, ADs, BCPs, bioidenticals, nothing much has helped. I hope and pray this gives me some relief.
