Materials: J. & P. Coats Crochet Cord, color 106 Sport Green, and color 82 Autumn Glow (number of balls depends on size of cover made). Milward’s steel crochet hook No. 4 or 5.

With Green make ch one-fifth longer than desired width for cover. 1 st row: Half d c in 3rd ch from hook, and half d c in each st of foundation ch. 2nd row: Attach Autumn Glow. Ch 1, s c in back loop of each st across. 3rd row: Attach Green, ch 3, half d c in back loop of each st across. Alternate the 2nd and 3rd row for desired length.

Using small tacks, put cover on footstool. Cover edge with harmonizing binding tape put on with upholstery tacks.

If you have a definite color scheme in the room in which the footstool is to be used, choose a combination of your colors for the cover. Or perhaps you have a favorite chair that you would like to have the footstool match.
