Broward Meals on Wheels is funded through the State of Florida’s Department of Elder Affairs and the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Broward County, with funds made available by the Federal Older American’s Act, Fair Share dollars and Private Donations. Funds raised stay in the communities in which they were raised.

NUTRITION COUNSELING
Changing nutritional needs (diets) can be confusing and difficult to follow. Our staff Nutritionist will help you determine how our meal services can be best utilized to help you reach your goals.

GROCERY SHOPPING
For those who can pay for their own groceries but are unable to shop for themselves, set up your own grocery shopping account with BMOW and we will find a volunteer to do the shopping for you. All shopping currently done in Publix Supermarkets. Cigarettes, Alcohol, and prescription pickups are prohibited.

EMERGENCY MEALS
BMOW delivers a 14-day supply of emergency meals to seniors who are returning home from the hospital or who suddenly find themselves in need of immediate assistance. This is a one-time only service allowing seniors the chance to recover or make arrangements for continuing meal services. Donations are strongly encouraged to assist BMOW in continuing all services.

MEALS FOR COMPANION PETS
BMOW delivers pet food once a month to homebound seniors who need assistance taking care of their in-home pets. We request contributions per pet for each delivery made. Pet food is provided through the generosity of community donations.

SENIOR DINING ROOMS
Join others at any one of over 30 locations in Broward to enjoy a hot meal, stimulating activities, and lots of friends to meet and socialize with. Seniors 60 years and older, who can get out of the house, can register at one of our man Senior Dining rooms across the county. Seniors receive a nutritious meal each weekday and participate in the location’s many wonderful activities.

MEAL DELIVERY
Homebound seniors, 60 years of age and older, will receive an in-home assessment to identify needs within the home. Clients will be offered one of several meal service options including the Older Americans Act funded program, Complete Cuisine (private pay services), Nursing Home Diversion and Medicaid Waiver options
